Edwin Williams performs Chill With Me

New Music from my buddy Edwin Williams from his soon to be released album ELECTRIC JAZZ MUSICIAN.
Edwin currently hails from Atlanta, he founded Groove Cafe ATL, which is a monthly jazz, inter-generational performing arts series featuring Atlanta area jazz musicians, singers and various performing artists.

On a personal note, dude is very knowledgeable about the music business and keeps me schooled on damn near any subject that deals with music or the business of music.

Dear Diary – 11-03-14 Soundcloud

It took me most of yesterday to figure out how to post SoundCloud songs in post, so that was a lot of fun. I eneded up using the plugin provided by SoundCloud. There was another plugin called SoundCloud is Gold, but I couldn’t get it to work. I think I gave up too soon.

Sara Devine (the greatest undiscovered female vocalist ever) and my good buddy Edwin Williams both have great cuts on SoundCloud that I want to post up, so I had to figure it out.

Matthew Koma – One Night

Never heard of this guy in my entire life until I did a search for the sound track to the Cadillac Commercial listed in the post below, and because betablock3r did a remix of his song One Night, it was a SoundCloud suggested listen, so I listened and I really liked it. I included a link to Matthew Koma’s wiki page. The One Night video is listed below.

Dear Diary 10-30-14 the Pain of it all

This morning I am in pain like a son of a B%#ch

This damn tooth has me where I can’t think straight. Thursday is my Guitar Lesson day but it looks like I’ll have to cancel and take a trip to my dentist. These unexpected expenses are a pain in the ass. I had all of my finances figured out and there is no way I saw a $300 to $400 dentist bill coming down the pike, fast forward to right now and I can’t wait to pay these folks. Hell I can’t even think my head hurts so bad.

The positive side of this issue is that I do have the money to get the work done and when the work is complete I can return to my Guitar Mission. God is a good God. 🙂

My Diary 10-29-14 New Talent

A big part of what I want to do is introduce new talent to the world. I am well aware that Hiop Hop is king in the music world these days. That’s why we need someone to introduce the people in music who play live music and sing. These individuals are greatly unrepresented. At one point in my life I was plugged into the underground Soul scene here in Atlanta and I was surprised at all of the talented people out here in need to exposure. I don’t see it getting any better any time soon for these Artist. The radio stations seem to be 100% dedicated to the least talented. Hopefully wee can be another outlet for serious musicians, singers and music makers in general. 🙂

Yesterday was a good day in that I lived through another day, but at some point in the day I caught a tooth ache that was straight up kicking my ass 🙁 I think it happened when I flossed my teeth and went a little to far into the gum line, maybe hit a few nerves. I was like damn this hurts like hell, but no matter how much pain I’m in I still have to cook my boy something to eat. To my great surprise my son came to me and said “Dad hang in there you will be alright”, he then proceeded to fix himself something to eat on his own. Shocked the shit out of me, usually he doesn’t give a damn how I’m doing, just want to know if his food is ready. My boy is growing up. 🙂

Dead Presidents – 1995

Dead Presidents is a 1995 American crime film written by Michael Henry Brown, also written, produced and directed by the Hughes brothers (Albert and Allen Hughes), starring Larenz Tate, Keith David, Chris Tucker, Freddy Rodriguez, N’Bushe Wright and Bokeem Woodbine. The film chronicles the life of Anthony Curtis, focusing on his teenage years as a high school graduate and his experiences during the Vietnam War. As he returns to his hometown in The Bronx, Curtis finds himself struggling to support himself and his family, eventually turning to a life of crime.

Dead Presidents is based partly on the real-life experiences of Haywood T. Kirkland, whose true story was detailed in the book Bloods: An Oral History of the Vietnam War by Black Veterans by Wallace Terry. Certain characters from the film are based on real acquaintances of Kirkland, who served time in prison after committing robbery in facepaint.

My Diary – 10-28-14

In the spirit of blogging every day, here I go. Yesterday was a decent day for me. I drank a few too many Brewskies (beers) so when I woke up on Monday i didn’t have the get up and go that I normally have. That was a real bummer. I have become used to getting things done. I’ll use the last second lost by my Falcons as an excuse for over indulging.

Today will be all about taking care of my Son, he has a dental appointment this afternoon, so I will have to take him out of school and make sure he is OK. We are really close so I enjoy taking care of this dude.

This blog at the end of the day will reflect my interest in life, which is in a nutshell MUSIC. I plan of putting out a Album within the next 12 months. In order to put out an Album you have to do the things necessary to put the Album together. This blog will outline that process. Since I am doing it all myself it will be interesting project. I hope to do 3 Albums. This is the number one item on my Bucket List.

I’ll keep updating this blog and at some point it will all come together.

Atlanta Vs Detroit 10-26-14

My Falcons are about to do battle with the Detroit Lions in London, Let’s go Falcons.  😎
I really don’t know what’s going on with my team, all I can do is pull hard for their success. If we don’t turn it around in a hurry it looks like we will have a new Coach and General Manager next year. As a long time fan I really don’t want to see that much change, but we have a great owner in Arthur Blank so I’ll put my trust in him.  😐
