Danny Deraney, publicist for Kasem’s daughter, Kerri, says Kasem died Sunday morning. A statement issued by the family says he died at 3:23 a.m. on Father’s Day morning surrounded by family and friends at a Washington state hospital.

“Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken,” wrote his daughter Kerri Kasem on Twitter and Facebook from the family. “The world will miss Casey Kasem, an incredible talent and humanitarian; we will miss our dad.”

Mothership Connection – Parliament 1975

513klGSDAKL._SL500_AA280_I’m here to tell you that the Mothership Connection album was one of the greatest albums out during my College years. Every time I hear it all I can remember is the fine ass girls, the good times and getting drunk and telling lies with my buddies. Here are a few of the hot tracks I really liked. πŸ™‚

Jonas Rendbo Soulful dude out of Denmark

This is my second time starting my Soul Blog. On my first go round I ran into a lot of artist with talent. MySpace was really big back then for artist. Dear Diary

Today was kind of a bummer, I didn’t really get a darn thing done. I think the culprit may have been the four Pints of Beer I drank during the Miami Heat – San Antonio Spurs game last night. I let myself down. πŸ˜₯

Falcons to be featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks

Falcons Hard KnocksI love HBO’s Hard Knocks, but I’m going to really love it this season. My beloved Atlanta Falcons will be the feature this year. Hopefully we will erase the hell we as fans went through last year and have a great 2014. Here is the article from Atlanta’s own D. Orlando Ledbetter

FLOWERY BRANCH β€” The Falcons will be featured on HBO Sports’ award-winning documentary series Hard Knocks, the team announced Thursday.
Β
The Falcons, HBO Sports, and NFL Films will team up for an all-access, behind the scenes look at what it takes to make it in the National Football League when Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Atlanta Falcons debuts on August 5.

The Falcons have been approached before, but have been reluctant to appear on the hit show.

Screen legend Ruby Dee dead at 91

ruby13n-1-webStage and screen legend Ruby Dee, who personified grace, grit and progress at a time when African-American women were given little space in movies and on stage, died Wednesday in New Rochelle, N.Y. She was 91.

The death was confirmed Thursday by a family member, who declined to answer any questions pending the release of a statement.

“She died late (Wednesday) with her whole family around her,” family friend Latifah Salahudin told the Daily News. “All three kids and seven grandkids were there, surrounding her with so much love. She went peacefully from natural causes. We should all be so lucky.”

“She was so full of life and so strong. Such a powerful woman. We’re all going to miss her,” Salahudin added.

Dear Diary

Today I’m adding a section called DEAR DIARY. This is my way of commenting on my blog every day. We all know that the hardest thing to do when you create a blog is posting daily. Especially when you have no audience and no one is reading what you post. If you are lucky you will get traffic in time, if not hopefully you have a niche that makes you happy and helps you maintain interest. What I plan on doing is commenting on my quest to Learn to Play Guitar, start eating healthy, exercise on a daily basis, lose weight, learn all of the software packages necessary to record some songs I’m working on and finally to be a decent person.

Today I did get out and do some walking, I managed to walk for 60 minutes. It was 60 minutes of hell but I can’t complain. I really miss running, but since I messed up my knees that long time hobby and habit is no longer an option for me. I did practice my Guitar today, so that is always positive
